Engineers play a vital role in today’s society

21 year old Luke Cattermole from Druids Heath has been an engineering student at Bournville College since he was 18. Having progressed from Level 2 and 3, in September he starts the Foundation Degree in Engineering (Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechatronic and Robotic Engineering pathways).

Engineers play a vital role in today’s society. They contribute to the design, development and manufacture of products that allow us to do things on a daily basis that we take for granted, from talking on your mobile phone to flying on holiday on a commercial aircraft.

Once he has finished his top-up year at university, Luke wants to be a project manager in the electrical engineering sector.
